Cling to God

Matthew 10:39. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.

Surrendering to God for God’s purposes (and not self-purposes) is Jesus Christ’s meaning of losing oneself to find oneself.  We are most alive, most fully our God-created selves, when we seek God and desire to fulfill His will.  To cling to God is to not let go of His desires for us.  We are still clinging to self if we seek God for our own desires to be fulfilled(http://utmost.org/total-surrender/).

We find abundant, creative, personality-rich life when we surrender to our God in the fullest sense — seeking His plans, His purposes and His presence for our lives.  He longs to save us from ourselves.  Cling to Him, child of God.
