God’s Passion for Us

1 JOHN 4:19 We love because God FIRST loved us.

God loves first. Love is Who God is. Because of His very Being of love, God saved us, through His Son. He gave everything to be in relationship with us. God feels passion for us.  He longs for us to be in relationship with Him. He desires our whole hearts.  His love is relentless. He will constantly pursue our hearts. He loves us so.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Christ is our life-saver, causing us to rise above the tumultuous tides of worldliness.  He lifts us to heavenly realms, where God’s Presence reigns.  He saves us completely from our false selves that are lured into temptations of self-sufficiency and separation from God. He makes us whole by interceding for us to our Father God and connecting us in love. His salvation brings warmth, comfort and hope.

Be Still

Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Stillness is a word the world does not know.  Yet, the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ, is living water for our thirsty souls, and the Word commands us to BE still. God knows we need stillness in our hearts, calmness in our minds, to live abundantly and joyfully.  If we are still, we naturally praise and exalt God, and the fears calm and the striving ceases. God often finds ways for us to achieve stillness in our spirits. He is good.  Live and move and have your being in God by BEING still.  Let praise to God for new life flow from stillness.

Troubled Water

Isaiah 40:1-2 “Do not be afraid—I will save you.  I have called you by name—you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you.”

Not if, but when, you pass through deep waters, God will be with you. Pray. He will rescue you from falling into the depths of despair. He will quell your troubles. He will stay your suffering. He will calm your fears. He will save you from the deep concerns that trouble your soul. His promise to rescue you is real.  His Spirit hovers over the troubled waters of your life and brings peace. When you pray to Him with a troubled heart, He will answer with peace and love.

Hope in the Lord

Feeling weary? Fearful? Weak? Put your hope in the Lord. He will renew you. Your strength will be increased as you hope in Him, who knows everything about you, who created everything, and who never grows weary. His love will sustain you. Hope in your Creator and Lover.

Isaiah 40

    27 Why do you say, Israel,

“My way is hidden from the Lord;

    my cause is disregarded by my God”?

28 Do you not know?

    Have you not heard?

The Lord is the everlasting God,

    the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary,

    and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary

    and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,

    and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the Lord

    will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

    they will run and not grow weary,

    they will walk and not be faint.

Color of Love

Colossians 3:16 “Let the message about Christ in all its richness fill your lives”

How rich our Father God’s love is that He would sacrifice His son for our salvation. His message is love. May your heart be full of love from God. He sacrificed that we might live fully, colorfully, and abundantly. Contemplate your heavenly home, knowing you will be with your loving Father forever!

Ephesians 4:32-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you

God shows us His redeeming grace first. He forgives us unconditionally first.  He demonstrates his love to us while we are yet sinners.  From this starting place of grace, we are then able to forgive others and love others, as well as love God with our heart, mind, and soul. It is all because of  God’ grace that we “walk in love” according to Ephesians 5:2. Because God in Christ forgave us, we can be loving, gracious and forgiving.  We can give grace only because we’ve been given grace.
