Sustaining Spirit

Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Thank you, Father, for creating our hearts to be pure, our spirits to be steadfast, our joy to be constantly restored, and our lives to be sustained by your Spirit’s power who raised Jesus from the dead. By Your resurrection power, our hearts are cleansed, our minds are renewed, our joy is made complete, our perseverance is perfected, and our lives are saved!  We relinquish our spirits to you for forgiveness, wholeness, and steadfastness. You sustain us by your power and love. We praise you! Amen.

If you take a moment to contemplate in nature, you will see how the branches of trees are swayed by the wind. They mysteriously encounter the presence of wind and are moved by it. And so it is with God; we don’t know where or when we will feel His presence, but His Spirit comes mysteriously and moves us. Be present to His Spirit moving like the wind in your life. John 3: 6-8 “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
