Discerning Heart 

Philippians 1:9-11 “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”

God desires us to love well: with intention, with discernment, with authenticity and with the guidance of His Spirit.  When we ask God to soften our hearts and become sensitive to His Spirit, we are able to discern the direction, decisions and relationships that are holy and pleasing to God.  In wise decisionmaking, spiritual discernment, and authentic Christlike love, He fills us with righteousness and purity, so our lives bring beautiful glory to God. Ask God to make your heart sensitive to His Spirit’s guidance so you can discern what is true, loving  and glorifying to God.  See how your love for God and others abounds!

Strength in Christ

Philippians 4:12 “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

What if we really believed that we can be completely content in Christ? We can feel full because of His living Spirit in us? We can do anything He asks of us by His Spirit’s strength? Fueled by faith, fed by the Word, and fortified by the Spirit, we are invincible in Christ! We can be content through hardship, suffering, disappointment, discouragement, joy, victory and abundance….because Christ strengthens us! Amen!
