“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart; He gently leads those that have young.”
We are God’s children. He invites us into the loving relationship between He, His Son, and His Spirit. He gathers us and holds us close to His heart, the very same heart that loves His Son and Spirit. He feels compassion toward us and nurtures us, like a good Shepherd to His sheep. He sees our hearts and knows we need His heart. He cares for us as His children, who need His love, long for His arms, and crave His compassion. Let us release our hearts to His care.

What if we asked God to desire what God desires? God’s Word gives insight into His desires.
1 Peter 5:2-3 “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”
God desires willing servants who long to humble themselves and represent Him. Let us pray to be Christ’s representatives by having humble, willing hearts that desire what God desires. What an act of worship when we conform our hearts to God’s heart, through the power of His indwelling spirit.
