John 5:24  Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

It’s hard for us to receive anything we haven’t earned, worked for, or justified.  It’s especially  hard for us to wrap our minds around God’s free and saving love, much less receive His love and salvation in our hearts.  God asks us to receive His love in our minds and believe  in our hearts His love is for us.  This is the narrow path that leads to true life in Christ. We die to our egos that subscribe to the culture that requires we earn and work for our worthiness. We come to God in our unworthiness and receive His gracious and loving Son, who is our free and unearned gift from God for the salvation of our souls. It’s by God’s merciful love entirely.

Merciful, powerful God

Titus 3:5  He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

God operates in reverse from our egotistical thinking.  In our small selves, we think we can earn His favor and become saved by good works; it’s all about us.  God enlightens our thoughts to believe we are saved by His mercy and grace; it’s all about God at work in us. In our true selves, we recognize that transformation to healing, wholeness and holiness comes from God. Our ego wants us to live apart from God’s mercy and do life all alone; our true self in Christ deeply longs for His saving and healing mercy! His Spirit has all of the the power and does renew our minds, replenishes our souls, and regenerates the work of our hands to bless others for His glory.  More and more branches regenerate from the Vine of Christ, as His Spirit connects and restores us into right relationship with Him. Pray for God’s mercy!

Freedom to Fly

Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

In Christ, there is no blame, no shame, and no guilt.  There is no judgment condemning us, binding us, or restricting us.  Christ has set us free to BE FREE.  His Spirit of Life, which He promised after His crucifixion death, resurrection and ascension, sets us free from a life caged by sin and death.  Live in freedom. Walk in freedom.  Love in freedom.

We are meant to soar in Christ.  As the body of Christ, the shackles of sin have been unloosed and we can experience freedom together. Let us worship openly together, unfettered and free. We celebrate as a community the good news that there is absolutely no condemnation in Jesus Christ.  Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”  Children of God, be free.
