Isaiah 38:16-17 You restored me to health and let me live. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.

What internal benefits we reap when Christ is our first love. He restores our souls from the destruction and heals us to abundant life. He forgives our grievances and transforms our suffering, filling us with hope. He makes us whole, no longer a slave to our smaller stories of failure, sickness, defeat and sadness. We are complete in his bigger story of true life and love in Christ, as He fulfills His purposes for humanity in and through us. He rescues and restores us to new life in Him!
