For Joy, He Endured the Cross

Romans 12:2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].

When we are still and our hearts center on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, blessings abound: our faith grows into maturity, our hope endures through daily trials, our deepest joy is revealed, and our confidence is solidified from being a child of God through Christ’s redemptive and completed work on the cross. Because of His devotion and love, by way of the cross, Jesus sits at God’s right hand, with all power and dominion, and so we lack nothing. We are complete, joyful, hopeful and faithful in Christ. May the inner recesses of our needy hearts be filled with the full measure of Christ’s love because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
