Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (which means God With Us).

2 Peter 1:19 “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

The prophet Isaiah prophesied in the 8th century before Christ was born that the Immanuel would come. Evidence of the authenticity of this scripture in Isaiah exists in the Dead Sea Scrolls, which have lasted thousands of years. But God’s Word also tells us that scripture is authentic; 2 Peter tells us prophecy is reliable, and if we take it to heart, we will be shining lights that glorify God. We know this because John 1 tells us that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the Living Word. His life is the light of all mankind. He shines in us, and His light overcomes the darkness.

We rejoice in the truth of the prophecy of God With Us being fulfilled in Christ, who shines in our hearts.
