Matthew 11:28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
As we enter Holy Week, in celebration of our resurrected Lord, let us acknowledge that Christ came to save our souls for eternity, and He also came to daily save us from our selfish, prideful, burdened selves. When we rest in Him, we recover our true, abundant, grace-filled lives. Because of Christ’s sacrifice for us, we receive a new mind and heart in Christ to experience freedom and resurrection power. We learn to mirror His ways of living with truth, light, grace and love. He is our living God and He teaches us the unforced rhythms of His sacrificial grace. By His wounds, we are healed to live abundantly, love extravagantly and mirror Christlike grace.
