John 20:19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
Christ answers our fears with His peace. He answers our doubt, sinfulness and distrust with His Spirit. He answers our broken-heartedness with His love. Christ is the answer. Be comforted: even the disciples, who walked daily with Christ, experienced abandonment, crippling fear, and tremendous heartache. In the midst of their pain, Christ appeared and spoke peace. Believe Christ directs His Spirit to breathe life, peace and love into our spirits. When we are afraid, we need to trust God, not ourselves, to experience unexplainable and extraordinary peace.
