James 4:7  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Place yourself under God’s authority.  Surrender yourself to the Lord. Humbly pray to give your life, your thoughts and your heart to God.  He is trustworthy and all-powerful to reclaim, renew and restore you. 

Secondly, resist evil; do not let darkness, joylessness, and despair gain any control over you.  When you resist the devil in the name of Jesus, believing He will fight the enemy on your behalf, you will be delivered from darkness; evil will flee your heart, soul and mind.  

In the spiritual battlefield of the mind and heart, you have a choice to surrender to our good, all-powerful God and resist the force of evil.  Memorize and pray James 4:7 hard, then be a living testimony to this scripture.  Submit to God to empower you to resist evil.  Lightness, joy and hope will come.
