Wondrous Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18 The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works… (Message version)

2 Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

The Cross is power to those who believe. The Cross is our redemption from suffering. This is the way God works: He identifies with our suffering on the cross, and He delivers His resurrection power to Christ to reveal His glory and to save us!  We are completely freed from sin.  We are no longer captive to weakness.  We are covered in grace.  We are open to God’s glory on full display in the Cross.  God’s grace is sufficient to overcome all of our weakness, sin, and destructive ways. He is divinely and gloriously alive in us, overcoming everything that separates us from Him.  Because of the Cross, His power, that overcomes, rests on us.  Oh, the wondrous Cross.
