Luke 2:9-11 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Do we often interpret God’s glory all around us as terrifying? Would we have reacted similarly to Mary and Joseph, who feared when the angel appeared announcing the good news of our Savior Jesus Christ being born? We can choose to react to God’s presence with fear or with joy. He tells us not to fear; it’s God’s greatest good news that His Son came to Earth! The mystery of His saving powe and gracious love has been revealed in Christ! He is our Messiah… we need not fear. Allow God’s Spirit to knit joy and peace into your heart as you celebrate the birth of Christ. Respond to God’s glory all around you with deep joy and heartfelt gratitude. Heaven came down to love us. He is among us!
