2 Corinthians 1:8-9 ….we were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.
God raises the dead to new life. Just when we think it’s all too much to endure, He saves us from ourselves! He takes the depressed mind, addicted to thoughts of negativity and fear, and renews it to have the mind of Christ. Indeed, we experience death to our thinking, which is always egotistical and self-centered, as we open our minds and hearts to God’s power to transform us into Christ-likeness. We go through reoccurring anxieties, fears, and difficulties in our mind in order to come to the realization we need to stop relying on our powerless ego and turn to our saving God, full of mercy and grace. Tell your ego to turn off. Ask God to give you a renewed mind in Christ. He’s the One who renews and transforms us! We can’t renew ourselves, and we don’t need to try, praise God! Let God be God!
