Run the Race

Hebrews 12:1-2  Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.  Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Jesus stripped off the weight of humiliation, shame, pain, suffering, and heartache as He ran the race of endurance with God, focusing His perspective, with razor-sharp tunnel vision, on the joy set before Him: eternal life with God!  Is your focus on eternity or earth?  Is your perspective on God’s heavenly throne of love or is it on your earthly fears and suffering?  Shake off the weight of this world, so you can enjoy the marathon of running fully with God here unto eternity.  He is championing us on!
