1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (Message)
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
1 Corinthians 13 is the pinnacle….the highest crest…the zenith of love. Love is true. Love is steadfast. Love is loyal. Love is forgiving. Love is other-focused. Love is forever.
Christ’s unconditional love is the capstone of 1 Corinthians 13 love. In Christ, all the manifestations of true love are complete. He fulfills 1 Corinthians 13 love in us. Let us climb the highest peaks of love with Christ, so we share the grand experience with others.
Ephesians 3:18. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
