Psalm 31:5. Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, LORD, my faithful God.
We entrust our selves to God because He is worthy of our trust and we are weak without Him. His hands receive our trusting spirits. He rescues and redeems us, especially in our weakest, most powerless moments. We know this because Christ, who at His weakest moment laid dying on the cross, prayed this same prayer and God redeemed Him and all of humanity (Luke 23:46: Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.). Christ knew His Father is faithful and trustworthy. God’s hands are powerful and redemptive. He created and He continues to transform us by His hands. Entrust your entire being to God. Isaiah 64:8 : Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
