Philippians 4:4-7 – Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God is close to us. He gives us peace to guard our minds. We can’t will such peace; it is beyond our control and transcends our understanding. It is God’s gift to us. He cares about every prayer request, and wants us to joyfully ask Him for anything, with grateful hearts. He answers our requests with peace. He is our Prince of Peace. He guards our minds in Christ; we cannot be shaken from our peaceful position in Christ. We do not need to be anxious, ungrateful or lacking joy for anything. The Lord is near to us, and He brings everlasting peace. Ask Him.
