2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
The treasure inside our fragile jars-of-clay lives is the light-filled Spirit of God made possible through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His Spirit sustains us into eternity, by God’s grace. The hope we have in Christ defeating the cross is that death and darkness are not the final word. Though our lives are fragile, and physical death is inevitable, we remain spiritually alive in Christ forever. It’s the secret treasure to experiencing real life and hope on earth: acknowledging death to our external/ego/dark selves, but inner aliveness in Christ. Allow God to be the potter He is and mold and shape your inner jar of clay, so you experience union with Him and know the all-surpassing power that resurrects our souls comes from God! Outwardly, we may be fragile and fleeting. Inwardly, we are eternally alive, increasingly transformed, and joyfully hopeful in Christ.
