Romans 12:1-2, 12: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will…. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
The Spirit of God urges us to offer our whole selves to God — our bodies, minds and hearts. This offering is how we worship. As we turn away from the world’s demands, to our Father in prayer, we are transformed by God’s loving Spirit who renews us — giving us what we need, instead of what the world says we want. Let us be joyful in the hope of the Lord’s renewal and faithful in worshiping Him with our whole selves.
