Is your foundation made of sand or rock? Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
The wise man knows his strong foundation is the truth, living reality and practice of the Word of God; the foolish man doesn’t realize his sand castle is made of the ego, false pride, and selfishness. The sandy foundation of our self-centeredness is not equipped to withstand the storms of life. Let us build our very core foundation in Christ by hearing and practicing the Word of God; may we observe how, with more of God and less of self, we have peace amidst the storms.
