Jesus’s peace is not of this world. It does not look like anything from this world, or feel worldly. Jesus has to inform his disciples before His ascension: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives” (John 14:27). The world does not give us peace that is whole, lasting, healing, comforting and saving, but Jesus gives us such peace. The peace found in Christ is above life’s circumstances, amidst life’s dilemmas, in spite of the world’s problems, and beyond our wildest imagination or deepest understanding. May we place ourselves in a posture to receive Jesus’s peace!
